PLAISIR

DANSK DESIGN SIDEN 1952

DEN FØRSTE TID

Virksomheden Ulsø Design blev skabt af Christian Ulsø i 1952. Christian og hans kone Mette Ulsø fabrikerede oprindeligt chemiser i deres egen kælder. Parret måtte dog indse at de blev nødt til at udvide produktionen for at følge med efterspørgslen på Ulsø Designs produkter.

1952

Den fysiske lingeri fabrik, hvor Ulsø Design også har kontor den dag idag, belv bygget i 1960. På det tidspunkt blev alt produktionen flyttet fra Mette og Christians kælder til den nye fabrik på Linde allé i Ikast. Med til at bygge fabrikken var Mette og Christians svigersøn Knud Larsen. Knud Larsens kone, Christian og Mettes yngste datter, Eva Ulsø, skulle senere overtage virksomheden Ulsø Design.

GANG I HJULENE

1972

Da virksomheden blev overtaget af Eva og Knud Ulsø Larsen, var der for meget efterspørgsel til at virksomheden kunne håndtere produktionen alene på fabrikken i Ikast. Derfor blev der tilknyttet en række hjemmesyresker til Ulsø Design. Hver dag ville Eva Ulsø køre rundt i byen for at samle dagens færdiggjorte produkter sammen og fragte dem hjem til fabrikken hvorfra de ville blive kvalitetstjekket og sendt ud til forhandlerne. På billedet ses Eva Ulsø travlt beskæftiget ved sin symaskine.

1973

I 1973, året efter virksomheden Ulsø Design blev overtaget af Eva og Knud Ulsø Larsen, blev produktionen blev udvidet og sortimentet kom også til at inkludere lingeri og nattøj. På billedet til venstre ses Knud Ulsø, som er ved at blive oplært i bogføring af svigerfar og tidligere ejer; Kristian Ulsø.

Hverdagen på fabrikken var fyldt med kreativitet, produktivitet og ikke mindst latter. Ulsø Design har altid sat et gensidigt nært og positivt forhold mellem ejere og ansatte meget højt. På billedet til venstre ses ejer Mette Ulsø dele tips og tricks med et par af sypigerne.

"HELLERE LILLE OG FULD, END STOR OG TOM"

Allerede før produktionen af Ulsø Designs produkter blev outsourcet fuldstændigt blev virksomheden bemærket for dens lille størrelse og mandskab med et nært forhold imellem ejere og ansatte. Til venstre ses et billede fra den lokale avis hvor fordele og ulemper ved virksomhedens lille størrelse diskuteres.

ULSØ I PRESSEN

På billedet ses et udklip fra den danske avis BT, hvor nogle af tidens smarteste lingeri modeller er vist. Rød var på denne tid modefarve nummer 1, og selvfølgelig var Ulsø Design med på beatet med de seneste trends. Bemærk her, at telefonnummeret var det samme dengang, som det du kan ringe (til dem) på idag!

1990

Grunden til at Ulsø Design pludseligt befandt sig midt i en mediestorm, skyldes at Kronprins Frederik datede undertøjsmodel Katja Storkholm i slutningen af 90erne. Katja arbejdede for Ulsø Design igennem en årrække, og billederne af hende i lingeri var der pludselig stor interesse for hos de kulørte blade. Bodil Ulsø har dog forklaret at ingen billeder af Katja Storkholm blev udleveret og at Katja desuden var en fornøjelse at arbejde sammen med og fantastisk smuk.

EN NY RETNING FOR ULSØ DESIGN

1992-1997

Virksomheden blev i 1992 overtaget af Bodil og Lone Ulsø, som er døtrene til Eva og Knud Ulsø. Søstrene var ikke uerfarne indenfor feltet, men måtte allerede fra starten gennemgå en række forskellige udfordringer.

Et skiftende marked hvor virksomheder, både store og små, var nødsaget til at finde billigere arbejdskræft for at overleve den tiltagende konkurrence betød at den i forvejen lille virksomhed ville blive endnu mindre, da alt produktion blev outsourcet.

Ydermere kunne Ulsø Design i 1997  præsentere noget helt nyt. En helt ny retning for virksomheden. De havde nemlig valgt at fokusere på lingeri i store størrelser, dog stadig med samme sans for komfort og kvalitet, bare til et bredere publikum. På billedet ovenfor præsenterer Bodil Ulsø deres nyeste kreation til den lokale avis.

LOGO

Til højre ses det gamle Ulsø Design Logo som blev benyttet helt frem til midten af 90erne hvor det blev erstattet af PLAISIR logoet, som repræsenterer brandet på det nationale og internationale marked den dag idag.

NYHEDER I PORTEFØLJEN

2000-2005

Næste step for PLAISIR, som brandet kom til at hedde, var nu at begynde at producere badetøj. Til venstre ses et billede af nogle af de tidligste modeller, som blev præsenteret på standen ved Copenhagen Fashion Week.

EVA FYLDER 90

2017

Eva Ulsø, som er 3. generation i familievirksomheden, fylder 90 år. Mens mange længe har nydt sit otium i en alder af 90, mødte Eva troligt på arbejde hver morgen, for at modtage fragtmænd, medarbejdere og sørge for at virksomheden var lys, varm og velkommende at træde ind i. 

Dette kom der et par artikler ud af, i forbindelse med at 2. generation rundede det skarpe hjørne.

ARTIKEL

Mange fragtmænd, leverandører og kunder som Ulsø Design har haft samarbejde med igennem tiden svinger stadig forbi til en kop kaffe den dag idag.

DEN GAMLE DAME SKAL DIGITALISERES

2020

4. generation støder til familievirksomheden i 2019 og bringer nye initiativer med. Lageret skal digitaliseres og ordreprocessen skal gøres nemmere for PLAISIR’s kunder.
En ny retning for en gammel virksomhed.

ULSØ DESIGN FYLDER70 ÅR

2022

70 år efter de første skørter blev syet og solgt, trives den lille virksomhed stadig. Stadig i de samme lokaler og med samme familie som motor. Og vi håber på, og arbejder hårdt for at få lov at blive ved med at producere undertøj i minimum 70 år endnu.
